ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for a fully qualified Environmental Health Officer to join our dynamic and multidisciplinary Environmental Health service. This is a cross-functional role, working flexibly across both our Commercial and Residential teams. The focus will be on environmental protection, with particular emphasis on noise and other nuisance investigations, as well as providing professional input into complex planning and licensing applications.
The ideal candidate will bring a depth of technical knowledge, confidence in enforcement, and strong collaborative skills to support service delivery across both teams. Expertise in other Environmental Health areas such as Housing, Food Safety, or Health and Safety will be considered an advantage.
You will be involved in collating and presenting concise reports and recommendations to officers, senior management, and members; interpreting and applying relevant legislation and guidance; and undertaking investigations or enforcement action as appropriate. Experience using Idox-Uniform database software is desirable.

ABOUT YOU
The successful candidate will:
• hold registration with the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health (CIEH) as a qualified Environmental Health Practitioner.
• ideally have experience using Idox-Uniform database software.
• have strong experience in nuisance investigations, particularly noise and odour complaints, and be confident contributing to complex planning and licensing consultations.
• have experience preparing statutory notices, gathering and handling evidence, and working effectively with a range of stakeholders.
• be organised, accurate, and flexible, with strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work on their own initiative.
• be adaptable, with an eye for detail and capable of working under pressure.
• be available to carry out duties at flexible times, including occasional evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
