ABOUT THE ROLE
An exciting opportunity has arisen in Specialist Support Services to be part of the Senior Specialist Support Officer’s Team. We are looking for someone who is highly motivated, enthusiastic and can confidently lead and support a large diverse team of Specialist Support officers and cleaners to deliver a quality service.
As a Senior Specialist Support Officer, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day management of the Specialist Support Service area which includes our Independent Living and Extra Care schemes, Care Connect 24/7, Community Support and Tenancy Sustainment services.
You will have a high level of contact with residents and customers on our services, some with complex needs and you will liaise regularly with internal teams and external agencies to deliver and promote our services.
You will assist the service manager to continually improve and develop the Specialist Support service.
This is a very dynamic and reactive 24/7 service, and you will be required to support the team out of hours on a ‘on-call’ rota basis.
It is essential that you have use of a vehicle which has business insurance cover to enable you to carry out your duties. A mileage allowance will be payable.

The successful candidate will have:
• excellent communication skills at all levels
• a flexible outlook and attitude to working in a customer focussed team.
• good knowledge and understanding of services for older and/or disabled people and those with complex needs.
• a dynamic, pro-active, and creative approach
• experience of managing a large, dispersed team
• good organisational and time management skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a reactive service.
• experience in managing complex cases and problem solving.
• be able to work on your own initiative and have excellent attention to detail.
• A passion to deliver a quality service to our residents and customers.
• excellent computer skills (competent in using Microsoft Office IT packages including Excel)
