ABOUT THE ROLE

Are you passionate about safety and compliance? Join our team to inspect, monitor, manage and mainlining building safety standards across our housing portfolio.

We are looking for two individuals to join our building safety team, in a venture involving the inspection of our building stock, to ensure that compliance and required safety standards are adhered to and maintained or where required improved.
You will be responsible for a range of health and building safety inspections, tasks and monitoring purpose build Council blocks of flats and estates.
You will be expected to identify any areas that are below standard and arrange for the appropriate action for remediation or improvement.
The necessary training will be provided; however, it would help if you had a basic knowledge of fire safety to ensure actions from our fire risk management program are effectively actioned and risk managed.
In this role you will be expected to be out in the borough conducting, recording and reporting on inspection findings Mon - Fri with flexible working arrangements in line with departmental and service needs.

ABOUT YOU

You are a knowledgeable and motivated with a good knowledge in building and fire safety, especially within social housing.
You possess strong analytical skills and a keen eye for detail, allowing you to assess fire safety measures accurately and ensure high compliance standards.
You are highly organized and capable of managing demanding workloads within tight deadlines.
Your communication skills, both written and verbal, enable you to effectively engage with a diverse range of stakeholders, from team members to clients and contractors, fostering collaborative and productive working relationships.
In addition, you demonstrate a strong grasp of IT and database systems to track compliance and manage asset information efficiently.
You are committed to continuous improvement, proactive in identifying areas for development and open to embracing new technology and innovative methods to optimize processes.
Your approach to work aligns with the organization’s values, showing accountability, professionalism, and a strong understanding of how your role supports wider corporate objectives.
In this role, you’ll uphold safety standards, ensuring the safety and satisfaction of our residents and compliance with statutory obligations in housing safety.
