ABOUT THE ROLE

Stevenage is delivering a major regeneration programme that will see up to £1bn investment over the next 15 years.

An exciting opportunity has been created to be part of the team leading the delivery. The council is seeking an experienced Regeneration Manager, reporting to the Assistant Director of Regeneration, to support as the variety of projects and opportunities continues to expand and the programme continues to grow.

The Regeneration Manager is key to the delivery of the council’s vision for prosperous town with vibrant communities and improved life chances. The role will be part of the regeneration management team who collectively are responsible for leading key regeneration projects and initiatives to help shape the future of the town centre and the day-to-day management of the Regeneration team. The role will work in close liaison with various individuals and groups, including developers, contractors, other departments, members of the public and elected members.

ABOUT YOU
The successful candidate will have

- A relevant degree, professional qualification, membership of relevant professional organisation or relevant experience, and evidence of on-going professional development.
- Experience of project management methodologies and experience of delivering high profile regeneration projects in the built environment.
- Good knowledge of the planning system, land assembly and asset development in the built environment.
- A demonstrable ability to develop creative solutions to management and strategic issues to secure inward investment.
- A proven track record of successful liaison, negotiation and communication with a wide range of stakeholders to deliver development in a regeneration environment.
- Experience of successfully representing and promoting an organisation at a senior level with external bodies and the media, and building and developing partnerships with different organisations to deliver complex programmes.
- Ability to manage resources including being able to plan and undertake change control effectively.
- Experience of influencing and communicating with senior management teams and in the project team environments.
- Ability to establish positive and appropriate relationships with Council Members, demonstrating political understanding and sensitivity.
