ABOUT THE ROLE
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Specialist Support team as a Shift Specialist Support Officer. This is a dynamic role where every day is different, and you will have the opportunity to make a difference to someone’s life.
You will work as part of a team responding to emergency calls from older and vulnerable people living in the community on our Care Connect 24/7 alarm service and in our independent living/Extra care Housing Schemes.
You will visit service users and residents to enable them to maintain their independence for as long as possible and be responsible for assessing and installing Care Connect alarm equipment.
This service operates 24/7 and you will therefore need to be flexible. Our shifts include earlies, lates, nights, weekends and bank holidays on a five-week rota.
You must have use of a vehicle which must have business insurance cover in order for you to be able to carry out your duties. A mileage allowance will be payable.
ABOUT YOU
The successful candidate will have:
• excellent communication skills at all levels
• a flexible outlook and attitude to working in a customer focussed team.
• good knowledge and understanding of services for older and/or disabled people and their needs, demonstrating a high level of sensitivity.
• a dynamic, pro-active and creative approach
• excellent problem solving skills
• good organisational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• experience in managing complex cases and problem solving
• be able to work on their own initiative and have excellent attention to detail.
• excellent record keeping and computer skills (competent in using Microsoft Office IT packages including Excel)
