ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic, and organised individual who can ensure that a high level of administrative support is provided to the Repairs and Maintenance team.

In this key role, as a Business Support Officer, you will provide a co-ordinated, consistent, and high-quality support service, delivering an essential range of technical and non-technical support to the day-to-day operations of various service areas and projects. This will include supporting responsive and planned repairs, hazard management, disrepairs, insurance cases, damp and mould, empty homes, and the co-ordination of housing hazard cases in support of statutory and regulatory requirements.

You will also assist with the administration, monitoring, tracking, and reporting of cases, helping to ensure accurate records are maintained and service standards are achieved.

The post holder must be flexible, approachable, and keen to work effectively with tenants, contractors, suppliers, and colleagues, providing cover for other Business Support Officers and workstreams when required.

The successful candidate must be a proactive and well-organised individual with a good knowledge of social housing, preferably within a responsive repairs or maintenance environment. You will have a passion for ensuring customers are at the heart of what we do and be an effective communicator with a strong customer focus.

ABOUT YOU

The successful candidate will have:

• Strong communication skills with a friendly, efficient, and customer-focused attitude.
• A flexible approach to work with the ability to plan your own workload over short timescales for routine or familiar tasks and use your initiative to work independently.
• Proven organisational skills, capable of managing multiple tasks, setting priorities, and adapting to changing demands to ensure service continuity during team absences.
• Experience of minute or note taking.
• Experience of working as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience of co-ordinating cases, monitoring actions, maintaining accurate records, and supporting compliance-related processes.
• Experience of financial management, including raising orders and processing invoices.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and financial software.
• An understanding of the importance of accurate case management and record keeping in supporting housing safety requirements, including damp, mould, and other housing hazards.
• Commitment to personal development and continuous improvement in service delivery.
