ABOUT THE ROLE
This is an exciting opportunity to join our Temporary Accommodation Team, supporting some of the most vulnerable people in our community. As a Temporary Accommodation Support Officer, you will be at the frontline of delivering high-quality housing management and support services to individuals and families living in emergency and temporary accommodation.
You’ll play a vital role in helping residents sustain their accommodation, access support, and work towards independent living. This is a varied, hands-on role that requires empathy, resilience, and strong interpersonal skills, as well as a good understanding of safeguarding, housing law, and partnership working.
Main Duties
• Provide tailored housing management and support to residents living in emergency and temporary accommodation.
• Promote independent living and wellbeing, identifying residents’ needs and referring to appropriate support services.
• Advise residents on rent, service charges, and benefit entitlements, assisting with claims where needed.
• Respond to and manage anti-social behaviour and safeguarding concerns, following internal and external procedures.
• Complete property viewings, lettings, and move-ins, ensuring residents understand their rights and responsibilities.
• Carry out regular health, safety, and risk assessments in communal areas and respond to building-related emergencies.
• Maintain accurate records and case notes, contributing to team reviews and service development projects.
• Liaise with a wide range of internal teams and external partners to deliver coordinated, resident-focused support.
• Actively support residents with move-on arrangements and promote health, education, and wellbeing opportunities.
• Represent the service in legal proceedings, court hearings, case conferences, and safeguarding meetings as required.

ABOUT YOU

The successful candidate will be able to manage an ongoing caseload meeting the needs of all clients, especially the vulnerable with more complex housing needs. They will be resilient and assertive when working with high-risk client groups consisting of Registered Sex Offender’s, prolific and violent offenders, those battling addiction, prison leavers and those with complex or undiagnosed mental health conditions. The successful candidate will have ability to deal with conflicting priorities and emergency situations. Managing challenging behaviour in a professional manner is imperative, summoning appropriate medical or social assistance as necessary and maintaining professional boundaries.
