ABOUT THE ROLE

We have an exciting opportunity to join our amazing housing team as a Resident Engagement Manager. This is a new role that will primarily be responsible for Stevenage Borough Council’s resident engagement and communications activity; working collaboratively across the organisation to create innovative opportunities for residents’ views to influence, shape and continually improve the services we offer.

You will be responsible for embedding our Resident Engagement Strategy and communications plan by delivering and managing an exciting range of activities, supporting residents with diverse needs and enabling access to the opportunities provided.

You will also lead on tenant satisfaction measures and making sure that we communicate effectively with our residents on things that matter to them, including how we are performing as a landlord.

Stevenage Borough Council has recently been awarded a C2 grade by the Regulator of Social Housing and are on a journey to a C1 status. We are looking for an ambitious candidate to help us get there by strengthening our resident engagement and driving this important area of work forward. It’s also important that you can embed a culture of listening to residents across our teams and learning from their experiences to help us improve what we do.

ABOUT YOU
The successful candidate will have;

• A passion for social housing and experience of working with diverse groups to meet their needs and improve access to services.
• Experience of managing resident engagement or communication activities, preferably within a social housing environment.
• Have a solid understanding of Social Housing Regulatory Requirements, particularly the Transparency, Influence and Accountability Standard and how it should be applied.
• Experience of effective relationship building and strong communication skills across a range of settings.
• Experience of effectively facilitating activities with large groups and adapting approaches for different audiences and preferences.
