ABOUT THE ROLE
Stevenage Borough Council has a stock of approximately 6,500 Garages across the borough which is managed by our dedicated Garage Team. We have an opportunity for an outstanding candidate to join our small team, providing essential technical support within the service.

This customer focussed role will involve engagement with garage licence holders and you will be responsible for processing all garage termination notices and closing garage rent accounts. Alongside this you will arrange for garages to be inspected and produce final account bills to former licence holders. It is essential that the Council ensures that all garage rents are paid on time and the successful candidate will work closely with the Garage Manager to drive down arrears balances with existing garage licence holders, working within the boundaries of the garage enforcement policy.

ABOUT YOU
The successful candidate will have:
- The ability to work positively in a small team and to relate to other people
- The ability to prioritise own workload and to work independently with a minimum of supervision.
- Excellent customer care skills and the ability to deal with a range of audiences, dealing with financial issues sensitively but effectively
- Good level of numeracy including ability to compile financial and statistical information including performance indicators.
