An exceptional opportunity to join the Stevenage Direct Services (SDS) team has arisen with the newly created post of Systems Manager.
The post holder will be responsible for SDS IT operational systems and accountable for ensuring systems are developed, maintained, and fully optimised within the service. The post holder will work closely with the operational team, suppliers, IT, and other colleagues to develop continuous improvement of the systems.
You must work proactively and collaboratively with Stevenage Direct Services’ and wider council colleagues plus third party representatives to implement and provide an efficient and dependable digital experience for our operational managers, front line employees and business support team. This role is required to learn quickly, use their creative abilities, and develop solutions to keep our service dependant systems fully operational.
ABOUT YOU
The successful candidate will have:
• Relevant degree, professional training, or equivalent experience in the use of IT systems
• Experience of ensuring the effective operation and development of major IT system within a similar organisation.
• Ability to liaise effectively with managers at all levels within the organisation, and with managers in key partner organisations, including the ability to negotiate and agree changes to processes
and service standards.
• High attention to detail and excellent written skills
• A proven track record of being organised, adaptable and responsible with a flexible and agile mind set.
• An Innovative mindset and continuously strive to identify new ways of improving the quality of service, taking account of new advances.
