ABOUT THE ROLE
As part of our Estates and Corporate Landlord function, the Estates Surveyor plays a pivotal role in ensuring that the Council manages its assets efficiently and effectively.
Key responsibilities include
• managing the Council’s commercial property portfolio of shops, industrial units, ground rented properties and other non–housing assets
• marketing and letting vacant units
• negotiating rent reviews and lease renewals
• dealing with tenancy and maintenance issues
• taking action in respect of rent arrears, enforcement of lease terms
• ensuring budgets are met.
• assisting with disposals of land and property
• developing and implementing the Council’s asset review process and disposals programme
• providing valuations of land and property
ABOUT YOU
The ideal candidate will have: -
• membership of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS)
• a RICS accredited degree in Estate Management or Surveying
• proven experience in valuations and estate management
• the ability to negotiate commercial deals including rent reviews and lease renewals
• good working knowledge of Landlord and Tenant law and valuation methodology
