Are you passionate about health and wellbeing? Do you want to make a difference to the lives of Stevenage Borough residents? An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Sports & Leisure Team on our new health improvement project!
Your role will reflect and support new and innovative approaches to reducing health inequalities, tackling widening health inequalities, working closely with the Stevenage Equalities Commission and the County Health Inequalities Group.
You will work in partnership with wider key stakeholders including Stevenage ICDB Locality, BAME Recovery Advisory Board, East and North Hertfordshire CCG Health Inequalities Group, Stevenage No More Service and the Healthy Stevenage Partnership, and contribute to the management of health protection and incident/outbreak management across Stevenage Borough Council.
You role will also lead on improving the health and wellbeing of children & young people through the implementation, delivery and sustainability of the Stevenage Young People’s Healthy Hub,.
Prevention and encouraging people to be more proactive about their health and wellbeing is central to the vision of the Healthy Stevenage Strategy (2018-2022). Your duties will reflect and support the implementation of the strategy and its response to the COVID-19 pandemic recovery.
This is a project focussed role, for an initial two year period. We are looking for someone with lots of energy and enthusiasm to play a key role within the Communities & Neighbourhoods Team in improving the health and wellbeing of Stevenage Borough Council residents.
You will have experience and a genuine interest in leisure and health development, be comfortable working and thriving in an ever changing environment, understanding the need to meet the expectations, key deliverables and performance indicators of more than one key stakeholder.
