We have recently announced a £350million scheme for the first phase of the regeneration of Stevenage Town Centre and we have recently awarded an Active Communities contract to one of the UK’s leading operators and a planned new £40million leisure facility.

We have an opportunity for an outstanding candidate to join our dynamic team in this unique role to, develop, manage, deliver, and support a wide and diverse programme of activity at Fairlands Valley Park Sailing Centre and other areas of the town.

The successful applicant will need to be a team player and an excellent and persuasive communicator with a proven record of delivering success.

We are looking for an experienced professional who has previously worked in similar roles and who is dynamic and with natural leadership abilities together with drive and commitment to initiating and delivering innovation and cultural change.

The successful candidate will have unrivalled experience of working within leisure sports and water based development sectors. To be considered for the role you will need to have a proven track record of success in these areas of work be a strong swimmer willing to gain further funded water and dry based qualification together with the ability to manage and lead an extensive work programme which includes

• To manage a water based activity centre at Fairlands Valley Park
• Working with a variety of partners and organisations to deliver significant improvements to active participation, health and wellbeing of the local community.
• Develop and deliver water and land based courses and programmes for the community
• Be customer focused and prepared to meet seasonal demands of the service
• To be forward thinking, self-motivated and have a unique set of skills and experiences that will harness opportunities that arise within the sectors of work
• Be prepared to work unsocial hours, evenings, weekends and bank holidays and respond to seasonal variations e.g., annualised hours
